OSUM Holding ACT Prep Classes 05-29-2009

The Ohio State University at Marion will offer a summer session of ACT prep classes for high school students specifically designed to prepare them for their upcoming college entrance exams.

The Prep Class three for sophomores, juniors, and seniors will run from July 27th through the 31st from 8 AM to Noon.

Those interested in learning more or registering for an upcoming class are asked to contact Jean Dodd in community relations at 740-725-6340. Prepayment is required and class size is limited.

Michael Short will be the instructor for the classes. He is a recognized expert and well known in area high schools for his work in college access services including FAFSA, scholarship searching, essay writing, and test preparation. He is the Director of Student Affairs at The Ohio State University of Marion and the former executive director of the I CAN Center of Excellence, a regional college access program.

The 20-hour course will meet for 4 hours each morning and will include general test taking concepts and strategies, intensive work on each of the four major subtests and a session on the writing components. Participants will receive an ACT study book and ACT workbook. This course is designed for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Previous participants in either Class One or Class Two will receive a 20% discount for this workshop. The workshop cost is $200.00. Registration and prepayment are due July 6, 2009.
